Terms

The agreement, in the fewest words that work

What we provide, what stays yours, and what beta means in practice.

Draft. These terms describe how the product actually behaves, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer and are not yet a binding agreement.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right in the files, tasks and comments you put into Tooly. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond what is needed to store your content, show it to the people you invited, and back it up.

Your account

One account per person. Keep your password to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into it.

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use the product where doing so would break the law.

What you must not upload

  • Anything you do not have the right to share.
  • Malware, or content designed to attack the service or a user.
  • Material that is unlawful where you or your workspace members are.

We do not read your files as a matter of course. If we are told about something serious, we may look, and may remove it or suspend an account.

Beta

The product is free while in beta, and beta means what it says: things may change, break, or be withdrawn. Do not make Tooly the only place a finished master exists — keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

When paid plans arrive we will give notice before anything you use starts costing money, and you will not wake up to a bill.

Ending it

You can stop whenever you like and take your files with you. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us.

If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a window to export your work.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and your data intact, but we do not promise it will never be interrupted, and during beta we do not offer a service level guarantee. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
